The Gannet

There was an amazing gannet show at work today as they plunged into the water meters from the boat. The passengers were in awe of their spectacular diving technique and the sound it makes when they hit the water at such velocity. An incredible bird.

We are seeing so many harbour Porpoises on our tours now with Elding Whale Watching Reykjavik (www.elding.is)  that it has given me a chance to get some nice pictures of them. Whoo hoo!

A couple of weeks ago my friend Maria and I had a little road trip to the Snaefellsnes Peninsula, on the West coast of Iceland. Such a beautiful place to visit.

Winter Orca (Killer Whales)

Winter of 2011-2012 for Elding Whale Watching Reykjavik, Iceland (www.elding.is) has been incredible. Humpback Whales and Orca pretty much everyday now for the last month. The reason for this is because the herring is more abundant in the winter than in the summer. You don't only get the Icelandic stocks you also get the Norwegian Stocks which are only around Iceland in the winter. This increase in herring has brought all the whales with it. Below are some of the pictures i've taken over the last few weeks of the Orca.
